Coca Coca Rap & Dance Competition – MEDAN

On Friday May 20 yesterday at Medan Merdeka Walk, a new event Rap & Dance competition. The event was held to commemorate the birthday of the Freedom Walk, 6 and Coca Cola to 106. EO MGcreative be successful attracting about 100 hiphop talent in Medan, but unfortunately because of time a day only, then only 36 Group who can follow the competition. Registration for this free competition is not in the entrance fee charged, and the winner will get cash, Cup, and became Ambasadornya Coke Coca Cola. To enliven this event, the EO also invited the rapper rappers and dj fields namely: DJ Kwest - J-Quality - Methosa - Jere & Ucok Munthe

ABOUT JOGJA HIP HOP FOUNDATION

Founded by Marzuki Mohammad aka Kill the DJ in 2003, Jogja Hip‐hop Foundation (JHF) projects itself to accommodate Yogyakarta based hip‐hop crews that mostly use traditional Javanese language. Even though the name might sound formal, JHF operates in a more communal way rather than in the form of formal institutions. We support our activities from the sales of audio CD’s and merchandises. After the Poetry Battle project, several sponsors came along to support our projects.

After few small projects, we started the Indonesian poetries project in 2006. We then produce the Poetry Battle 1 album in 2007 and Poetry Battle 2 in 2008. Both consists of poetries and ancient literatures; starting from literatures from the 18th century, to contemporary poetries. The goal of Poetry Battle project is to promote love and pluralism through its theme; “love” and “respect to the others”.

JHF’s highlight consists of three crews who consistently rap in Javanese language. Those groups also combine Javanese traditional groove with urban music beat. They are Jahanam, Rotra and Kill the DJ; a bunch of Javanese rude boys standing still in the cross-culture.

JHF just launched a documentary movie titled Hiphopdiningrat; The tales of Javanese Hip-hop.
