Jogja Hip Hop Foundation (JHF) is proud to proclaim that the crew known as the Java Hip Hop this will show in New York, a city that is very special in the history of the birth of rap music and hip-hop culture. Show time is invited by the Asia Society, an institution of art and culture exchange is very prestigious.
Show will take place on May 14, 2011, at the Asia Society Center, 725 Park Avenue, NY. Besides the show, JHF will also play their documentary film; Hiphopdiningrat, and public lecture. Show times this is a pending project. Initially planned for December 2010, then in January 2011, but because there are many technical problems, then retreat until May.
On show in NYC this time, JHF confirm that one of their crew, Lukman Hakim aka Radjapati certainly can not leave because they do not get a visa. JHF will be accompanied Soimah Pancawati as Sinden and DJ Vanda.
JHF very confident using the Java language with rap lyrics of hip-hop music mixed with traditional rhythm of Java, after nearly a decade beridiri, the choice was now giving a blessing for them by the number of invitations to perform abroad, what they are doing is considered as an expression of cross brilliant culture. "We never had a contemporary tendency, Java Hip Hop is honesty, forever will like it. But if what we are doing is considered art, it is their right ", said Marzuki Mohammad aka Kill the DJ, founder and producer JHF respond.
Each option has risks and its own way, with consistency and quality, JHF more proof that does not need to be discouraged to stand on the roots of tradition and environment. Maybe it makes them difficult choices enter the music industry in the homeland, but JHF never gave up with it.
