JUKI JHF

KOMPAS.comMarzuki Mohammad can be regarded as the inspiration for hip-hop musicians, especially in Yogyakarta. Three years before Jogja Hip Hop Foundation stand, he is reaching overseas. After that, together Jogja Hip Hop Foundation , last year they performed in Singapore.

In 2010, the plan they would play in New York and San Francisco, USA. Invitations are coming from Singapore and the United States had become one of the measures that hip-hop musicians java taken into account. Although, according to the Juki or Zuki, Marzuki Mohammad calls, to reach it required a long process and negotiation skills are qualified.

In 2003, Juki establishing Jogja Hip Hop Foundation. Containers which are termed as "room without walls" became his vehicle. From Jogja Hip Hop Foundation, at least has hatched two Battle Poetry titled album in 2007 and 2008.

The compilation album of hip-hop musicians were printed thousands of copies of each CD and sold out within months. The potential of hip-hop then became apparent. So, not surprisingly, the public and look forward to the release of the third Battle Poetry.

However, public expectation was apparently not going to materialize. "I'm not going to make the Poetry Battleagain really. I just want to make and would not I love the title Poetry Battle, "said Juki, fourth child of five children of this Soepartijo H family.

Juki seems to want it first to realize another dream. He's working on and will soon launch a documentary filmtitled Hip Hop Diningrat . This is a film that portray the journey of hip-hop with a stream of Java.

However, Juki has given way to the hip-hop community to take part in Yogyakarta. Through Poetry Battle hehad given "key"for the children of hip-hop to meet anyone outside the mainstream music channels.

He is also active in helping the children of hip-hop when they make a recording of the album. In addition, he is also going to make another record albums. This time Juki collaborate with Soimah, singer whose name skyrocketed to Jakarta.

The album is titled Semiotics coast. Not only is engaged in the music world, Juki was trying to get revenue from distributions Whatever Shop in Yogyakarta. Because, most of the revenues the shop to "ticket" for some children on the edge of the Code River, Yogyakarta, to stay in school.

Nervous
Actually, the hip-hop music is not the first selected flow Juki. The man who does not pass the Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Yogyakarta that before a lot of friends with street artists. Through a kind of apprenticeship that's how he was, among other things, studying graphic arts and theater.

In the world of hip-hop, Juki is known by his stage name Kill The DJ. The name was new to wear in 2001. The reason is, when he saw some young people idolize rave party (party all-night electronic music played by the DJ).

"They're too flattering DJ's," said Juki ago wanted to "overturn" the assumption that through his name, Kill The DJ. Sometimes he uses the name Chebolang, especially for arable graphic design. This is a controversial figure in the book of Java language, Fiber Centhini, which is always restless search for identity.

Juki seems to feel anxiety as experienced Chebolang also happen to him. Juki pointed out, when he heard a phone recording Anggodo Widjojo with several people who played the Constitutional Court, he felt compelled to channel the anxiety. Then came the lizard song Nguntal Boyo, which he sang while participating rallied in Jakarta.
The song then he listed a ring back tone (RBT). Of the five providers who ditawarinya, two of whom received lizard Nguntal Boyo for RBT and the result is a fund anti-corruption campaign.
Mother tongueAlthough hip-hop did not bring java relatively large material advantage, Juki remain menekuninya. To maintain the existence of hip-hop Java, 40 Java-language book collections are the source of inspiration for Juki endless.
"Turning native language (Javanese) is a form of responsibility. If poetry just java stored in the piece the book, he will be away with the public. I want to make it as public property, "said the Juki is a show with hip-hop Urbanfest Java in 2007 in Ancol, Jakarta.
Juki told me, he was interested in Java-language book precisely when in France to explore electronic music in 2000. "Maybe because I was abroad, so there is a distance with the birthplace of the Java language and culture become important. I'm embarrassed, obviously I do not know anything about the culture and language of his own mother, "said the man who grew up in boarding schools because of the father of a ustaz.
He's more concerned when he learned that the Java language, including most young people are not interested. This condition makes Juki strives to be a "bridge" between young people with the poetry of Java. He uses hip-hop as a medium.
Not just hip-hop and distributions as a youth fashion as a supporter of her field, Juki also trying to raise the creativity of young people through various festivals.
In Yogyakarta, in collaboration with artists Jompet and several other artists, he formed "Performance Fucktory" in the 1990s. This is an activity that displays a multimedia art with elaborate stage electronic music, video, and gestures.
Through the "performace Fucktory" is, Juki and friends often hold a multimedia art shows in various places, both in Yogyakarta and Bandung and Jakarta. In addition, Juki also be a "motor" activity "Parkinsound", which followed an average of dozens of bands, with some 4,000 visitors.
